frizz
Do you wish you could achieve salon perfect hair that dosen't fall flat as soon as you get home?

In my thirty-six years standing behind the salon chair I have learned a few tips I would like to suggest on how to achieve a successful Frizz-Free Hair!

1. Start with wet hair. You can gently towel-dry so it's not dripping wet, but don't rub to hard. For the smoothest, long lasting results avoid "rough drying"- fluffing the hair with your hands while drying. It does save time, but it can make the hair frizzy.

2. Don't use to much product. If your hair is fine or oily, it'll become limp. Put a bit of product only on the ends, if needed.

3. Divide the hair in sections and start in front because this area tends to dry the quickest. Using a round brush and plenty of tension, aim the blow dryer at the roots and move it along the length of your hair to the ends. Heating the hair in the direction of the cuticle keeps it smooth and will fight frizz.

4. For volume and height, hold each section up and dry in the opposite direction from the way you want it to lie. For extra bounce, pin each section up after drying to let it cool. This helps the curl stay in place so your hair dosen't go flat the minute you walk out the door.

5.  To make your blow-out last, spray your hair tightly and then leave it alone. Avoid brushing it out or running your fingers through it, this will break the bounce and make it go limp.

Want to look like you just stepped out of a beauty salon-everyday?

For the next couple of Monday's I will be sharing some of the best kept "Secrets" in the beauty industry. First let's begin with choosing the right concealer! Follow this rule of thumb when picking the right concealer for your skin under tones. If your skin tends to be ruddy(reddish); use a green color corrective stick; if you have a sallow(yellow) complexion, look for a counceler in shades of lilac or pink. Olive or darker skin tones need a peachy or apricot concealer.

When God completed His six days of creation, He took time to look over everything and saw that “it was very good and He approved it completely” (Genesis 1:31) God took time to enjoy the beauty He created, and we should do the same.In our passion to have more, we often fall into the trap of working, working, working-we never enjoy the fruit of our labor.Sometimes we should simply take time to relax and enjoy what we have accomplished….

We Are Loved! PDF Print E-mail

Do you ever find yourself thinking:How could anyone possibly love me? For many of us, this is a deeply ingrained belief.

Thinking we are unlovable can sabotage our relationships with coworkers, friends, family members, and other loved ones. This belief can cause us to to choose, or stay-in, relationships.that are less than we deserve because we don’t believe we deserve better. We may become desperate and cling as if that person is our last chance for love.

While growing up, many of us did not recieve unconditional love we deserved. Many of us were abandoned or neglected by important people in our lives.

Today, God help me be aware of and release any self-defeating beliefs I have about being unlovable. Help me begin to tell myself that I am loved. Help me practice this belief until it gets into my core and manifests in me.

Have Some Fun! PDF Print E-mail

Have some fun. Loosen up a bit. Enjoy life!

We do not have to be so somber and serious. We do not have to be so reflective, so critical, so bound up within ourselves and the parameters of others have placed around us.

This is life, not a funeral. Have some fun with it. Enter into it. Participate. Take a risk. Be spontaneous. Do not always be so concerned about doing it right, or doing the appropriate thing.

Do not always be so concerned about what others will think or say. God did not intend us to be so inhibited, so restricted, so controlled. We were created fully human. We were given emotions, desires, hopes, and dreams. There is an alive, excited, fun-loving child in us somewhere!

Don’t worry. We will learn our lessons when necessary!

Today, I will let myself have some fun with life. I will loosen up a bit, knowing I won’t crack and break. God, help me let go of my need to be so inhibited, proper, and repressed. Help me to inject a big dose of life into myself by letting myself be fully alive and human.
